SYDNEY  – Pacnet, today announced the signing of another three-year contract under the Whole of Government Telecommunications Agreement (WOGTA) to provide global network services to DFAT. This marks a new milestone in the ongoing relationship between DFAT and Pacnet (formerly Asia Netcom) which originated in 2002.

Under the terms of the agreement, Pacnet will continue supporting DFAT’s voice and data applications on a comprehensive network solution connecting more than 103 sites worldwide. DFAT sites include embassy, consulate and high commission locations in Asia, Africa, Middle East, Europe, the Americas, and the Pacific and Indian Ocean islands.

“We appreciate DFAT’s ongoing confidence in Pacnet as we continue to focus on providing industry leading quality, as well as technical and commercial flexibility, in meeting their global communication mandates,” said Bill Barney, Chief Executive Officer of Pacnet. “We also look forward to extending our service offerings to other government entities in Australia.”

Barney believes that ubiquity and high level of the network reliability, in addition to flexible service solutions, were critical factors in DFAT’s decision to again select Pacnet as its main provider of global connectivity services.

In sharing perspectives on winning the DFAT contract renewal, Deborah Homewood, Chief Executive Officer of Pacnet Australia commented, “It’s all about teamwork and we could not have successfully won this contract without the support from all levels of our organisation, especially our back-office team of remarkable professionals who provided technical and applications expertise to support our service offering to DFAT.”
