That mother was verbally abused and threatened by a Crestwood Police community service officer named Angel Brudnicki. She was called a child abuser in front of her children, and that CSO threatened to take her two year old child from her. This all took place before allowing Treffly Coyne, the mother, to answer a single question about the circumstances surrounding her child.
It is the responsibility of any police officer to investigate a child who appears to be left alone in a vehicle. Angel Brudnicki did not do that. Instead, she presumed something other than what had occurred and instantly escalated an innocent situation into one where a family was ripped to pieces by the police authority given to her by the people of Crestwood and the state of Illinois. These officers interpreted a vague law to suit their malicious actions that night.
Before she busted up that family, Angel Brudnicki could have asked Treffly Coyne how long she was away from the car. Or how far away she was. But she didn’t. She called her a child abuser, screaming at her in front of her horrified children. Angel Brudnicki followed the Crestwood Police departments ‘shoot first and ask questions later’ policy. A policy advocated in situations like these by the departments chief Timothy Sulikowski.
Timothy Sulikowski has finally come out and defended the actions of his CSO Angel Brudnicki. He feels what she did was not only proper, but professional. Crestwood Police chief Timothy Sulikowski is not big on ‘investigation.’
Chief Sulikowski says Treffly Coyne ‘forced’ his department to make them arrest her because she wouldn’t divulge the name of her two year old. He said that the child might have been kidnapped or on the missing persons list. Timothy Sulikowski is an imbecile. Is he to have us believe that if Ms. Coyne identified her child she would have been let go? Come on chief Sulikowski. Do you think a kidnapper would give you the right name? Would your officer reach into her diaper to pull out a drivers license just to make sure? Or were you thinking of doing a DNA test? You would let a kidnapper drive off with a child because they gave you a made up name? Do you listen to your own excuses before you try them out on the public?
Timothy Sulikowski said that what Treffly Coyne did set a bad example for the public. You, Mr. Sulikowski, set a bad example for the public when you allow rogue officers to ignore the law. When you discourage proper investigation and encourage false arrest. When instead of a well deserved apology you offer only silence. When you overlook child abuse and neglect by your own officers and employees.
Timothy Sulikowski, the police chief of Crestwood is a dangerous man. He is a liar and a quite possibly a criminal. He is a liar when he says Treffly Coyne could not see her car… that she was obstructed by a column. Ms. Coyne has evidence that Chief Sulikowski is a liar. The states attorney didn’t see it the way Timothy Sulikowski saw it. He is a liar when he says she was away from her car for seven minutes. The surveillance video clearly shows about HALF that time. It is a crime when a chief of police overlooks the criminal behavior of his underlings. He seems to have no problem when his officers perjure themselves in their police reports. He is unconcerned when an employee of the police department who is not a police officer uses a police car with police lights to pull over a civilian. He has no problem overlooking such felonious behavior by the employees of the Crestwood Police department.
Crestwoods Police chief Timothy Sulikowski disagrees with the Cook County Prosecutor who dropped the charges against Treffly Coyne when there was no evidence. He said he wasn’t happy with the prosecutor’s decision to drop the case BECAUSE THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE. Timothy Sulikowski feels its appropriate and acceptable to prosecute a mother, to take her child WHEN THERE IS NO EVIDENCE THAT SHE HAS DONE ANYTHING WRONG. It would seem to make Timothy Sulikowski happiest if he could avoid all such formalities as evidence and head Treffly Coyne straight off to prison.
Perhaps the Cook County Prosecutor should tell Timothy Sulikowski that in America, people don’t have to prove that they are innocent, the state MUST PROVE THEY ARE GUILTY. And Mr. Sulikowski, when the state ‘fails to meet its burden’ that does not mean one is ‘almost guilty by a technicality.’
Why Mr. Sulikowski, do you continue to cover up what your officers did at the Walmart on December 8th when they abandoned three little girls, 8 and 9 years old to their own luck? Did you file the correct paperwork concerning your own department’s child neglect with DCFS Mr. Sulikowski? Are you a liar AND a hypocrite?
Why do you continue to deny the fact that the ‘romantic’
Did your department do a background check on Angel Brudnicki?
Mayor Robert Stranczek, why do you allow a man of this caliber to run your police department? Can you not find anyone with a better grasp of our judicial system? One who might not allow prosecution against an innocent woman to proceed for 97 days WHEN THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO EVIDENCE OF HER GUILT? Mayor Stranczeks inaction only leads me to believe he supports this kind of policing as well.
People of Crestwood, perhaps it’s time for you to have a little community meeting. Your police chief is the laughingstock of the world. He has tarnished not only the badge, but the reputation of your community. All around the world.
Timothy Sulikowski, it’s time for you to accept the fact that to millions of people around the world your malicious attitude, abusive behavior and barbaric approach to law enforcement are not acceptable. If the people of Crestwood or their Mayor Robert Stranczek cannot rise to the task of cleaning up a police department in desperate need of reform, perhaps it is time for the outraged voices of the decent people in Illinois to call for the Attorney Generals office investigate the recent actions and abuses of the Crestwood Police department and their leader chief Timothy Sulikowski.
