Columbia, MD – The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults announced today that Aflac will be the title sponsor for their signature event with Sheryl Crow on March 16th in Baltimore City.
“Aflac is extremely proud to be the title sponsor for this event as we partner with the Ulman Cancer Fund to fight against a disease that impacts so many children and young adults,” said Paul S. Amos II, President, Aflac; COO, U.S. Operations.
Guests will enjoy live music from Sheryl Crow’s recently released album Detours as they enjoy tapas at Cindy Wolf and Tony Foreman’s Pazo restaurant. The evening will also include performances by Christine Baze and the Cancer Dancers.
"When I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006, Doug Ulman helped me navigate through my cancer experience - screenings, treatments and second opinions. He provided me valuable practical and emotional support at a time of need. Being diagnosed was hard enough. Fighting cancer was harder. I am proud to support the Ulman Cancer Fund not only because it is a great organization, but because I know first-hand the impact their presence has had in the young adult cancer community,” said Crow, of UCF founder Doug Ulman, a Maryland native.
"The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adult's work across the country has helped thousands of young adults face and survive a cancer diagnosis. I'm excited to visit Baltimore, Maryland to support an organization that isn't just another cancer support group. It's a family of survivors, loved ones, and professionals who work hard every day to improve the lives of young adults affected by cancer. I am proud to Get in the Fight,” said Crow, a breast cancer survivor.
“This has been a tremendous year for us. After celebrating our 10th anniversary with Lance Armstrong last October and teaming up with Sheryl Crow and Pazo restaurant for this event, we are excited to announce Aflac as our newest supporter,” said Brock Yetso, UCF executive director. “I think it is a testament to our work on behalf of young adults across the country.”
“For years, Aflac has taken a leadership role in the battle against pediatric cancer through work at the Aflac Cancer Center and Blood Disorders Service at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Like Aflac, the Ulman Cancer Fund is committed to providing much needed support services to young cancer patients and their families,” added Amos.

About the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults
The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults is a leading voice in the young adult cancer movement. For the past decade, the organization has been enhancing lives by supporting, educating and connecting young adults, and their loved ones, affected by cancer. A three-time cancer survivor by age 20, Doug Ulman and his family quickly learned how few support resources and services existed for young adult cancer patients and survivors. Frustrated by this void and motivated by the desire to help others, the Ulman family founded the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults. Together with its network of friends, survivors, and other support organizations in the cancer community, the Ulman Cancer Fund envisions a world in which all young adults affected by cancer will have the support and access to resources that they need to thrive.
