With the increase in deadly violent crime in South Florida in recent months a local company, American Firearms Defense (AFD), is stepping up to do their part to help people to defend themselves and their loved ones. Ultimate personal training, with a twist.
American Firearms Defense, based in Boca Raton, is a personal firearm training company. Unlike some trainers, who insist that their clients sit for hours of instruction in a dirty and noisy gun range, AFD instructors train their clients in the comfort of their client’s home or office. Following instruction, a quick stop off at the firing range and clients are certified for their Florida Concealed Weapons permit application. There are many courses to choose from, all of them geared toward personal defense.
AFD will even cater and provide lunch or breakfast for a large group training. Everything, including firearms, is supplied for the training. Instruction is geared from absolute beginners through advanced students. The courses bring with them a certificate of completion. AFD are handgun and shotgun defense specialists. Learning to shoot properly is the first priority. In addition emphasis is on personal responsibility and gun safety as is stressing the liability aspect of firearm usage. All instructors are National Rifle Association Certified and come from diverse backgrounds including business, military, law enforcement and medical. Spanish speaking instructors are also available.
For clients who wish to purchase firearms, new or used, AFD has made an exclusive arrangement with a well-known Federally Licensed Firearms Dealer, GunTech Inc., of Pompano, to visit group trainings. A Guntech representative will demonstrate different firearm models, assist in filling out paperwork and arrange expedient delivery of chosen products. The owner Richard Duskin, a skilled gunsmith, supplies local law enforcement agencies and SWAT departments with their firearm needs.
American Firearms Institute llc is owned by Evin Daly a Boca-based businessman. Mr. Daly is on the board of directors of a number of South Florida companies including Advanced Power & Energy Inc., a solar power development company.
