After fleeing from Baghdad as a teenager in 1959, and never to return because of unrest in Iraq, Mrs. Martin’s dream was to take her children to Baghdad to visit the city she grew up in and loved so much. The family trip never happened, and LTC Martin is the first of her siblings to see her Mother’s hometown as she serves in Baghdad as one of over 500 attorneys that have been deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
