Nota Bene Shoes for Women President featured in book for Aspiring Women Entrepreneurs

Guide to Overcoming the Big Challenges of Launching a Business by Karin Abarbanel and Bruce Freeman, published by Ten Speed Press.

The book is a supportive, “how to” guide for women making the move from employee to entrepreneur. “When we saw a huge surge of women taking the leap into entrepreneurship, the explosive growth of the  Internet, and the number of mid-career women eager to make a lifestyle change, we realized that there was a tremendous need for this book,” notes coauthor Karin Abarbanel.

The authors chose Riggs in part for her unique start-up story. A former Booz Allen consultant, Riggs left the comforts of the corporate world in 2002 to develop and launch a line of footwear that is both comfortable and stylish. “I think what’s so inspiring about Jennifer’s story is how she made a 180 from employee to entrepreneur,” said Abarbanel. “She had this light bulb idea to create these comfortable shoes.
