Green Modular Homes Company Breaks Ground With LEED Certified Green Home

A first-time LEED certified modular home will open this April in Robbinsville, NJ from Modular Homes, Inc., one of the first New Jersey based builders to offer this as an option for homeowners and builders in the Eastern United States.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Mar 09, 2008 – Modular Homes, Inc. prides itself in delivering custom built homes for the well-educated, distinguished customer, who is both value-oriented and environmentally aware. The nature of modular building is already environmentally friendly because there is less waste produced since the structures are built in an indoor, controlled environment.  And because the modules are built to withstand transportation from the factory to the home site, the construction is stronger and more energy efficient than traditional stick built homes.

“We are always looking to break new ground in the modular building business” states David Cooper, President of Modular Homes, Inc. “Going green is not just a novelty anymore; it is a way of life.  We are proud to be working with customers who are looking out for the environment. The exciting part is not only that a beautiful home will be created in the process, but modular building is taking efficient, environmentally conscious building to the next level.”

This project, however, is even more efficient than a standard modular home because LEED certified buildings:
• Lower operating costs and increase asset value
• Reduce waste sent to landfills
• Conserve energy and water
• Are healthier and safer for occupants
• Reduce harmful greenhouse gas emissions
• Qualify for tax rebates, zoning allowances and other incentives in hundreds of cities
• Demonstrate an owner's commitment to environmental stewardship and social responsibility
In order to achieve LEED certification, new construction earns credits for each item met on a 69 point checklist. The checklist includes requirements dealing with energy, atmosphere, sustainability, water efficiency, as well as innovation and design.  More information on LEED certification can be found at www.usgbc.org.

Modular Homes, Inc. is a leader in the custom modular home market, delivering superior products and unparalleled services to modular home buyers and builders in Eastern U.S.  MHI also provides consulting services to homeowners, architects and builders throughout the United States.  Adds Cooper, “We are a true custom builder.  We work with homeowners and builders to allow for just about any level of customization our client's desire.  From basic floor plans to finishing design touches, we assist every step of the way.”
