Twin Cities Hypnotherapist Invited to Join the International Positive Psychology Association

PRLog (Press Release) – Mar 10, 2008 – APPLE VALLEY, MN — Cindy Locher of Apple Valley, owner of Total Mind Body Connection, Inc., has been invited to become a charter member of the International Positive Psychology Association (IPPA).  “The purpose of this organization is to promote the science and practice of positive psychology and to facilitate communication and collaboration among researchers and practitioners around the world who are interested in this new field” according to an IPPA spokesperson.  The IPPA board of directors includes Martin E. P. Seligman, author of Authentic Happiness, and Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, author of Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience.  Both men are prominent leaders in the field of positive psychology, which is the science dedicated to understanding what creates optimal human functioning, well-being and happiness.

Locher’s involvement in positive psychology is related to her holistic approach to client care.  “For too long our concept of health has meant an absence of illness, both physically and psychologically.  It is exciting to see research into what defines an optimal psychology, and the resulting insights on how all of us can reach a higher potential.” In her practice, Locher works with individuals on goal creation and attainment using hypnosis as a tool to help achieve those goals.
