Mar 07, 2008 – Delhi, India – At the Technopak 9th Marketing & Retail Conclave in Delhi, Planet Retail presented one of its 2007 Innovation Awards to Reliance Retail. Reliance Wellness was awarded ‘Most Innovative New Format in the Drugstore Category’, beating off competition from around the globe. The format was recognised for its unique mix of drugstore, pharmacy and wellness services in the emerging Indian retail sector.

Reliance Wellness opened its first store in Hyderabad last year. Currently it operates 3 stores in Hyderabad, 2 stores in Bangalore and 1 store in Mumbai. Stocking around 5,000 SKUs, the stores offer a wide range of health and beauty related services, including medicines, toiletries, nutritional supplements, fitness equipment, allopathic, ayurvedic and homeopathic medicines, skincare, personal products, books and magazines on health and yoga, and selected sports equipment. The stores also include optical divisions and a range of related services such as eye testing advisory services and massages. According to Robert Gregory, Planet Retail’s Senior Analyst - Asia: “It was this holistic approach to the health and beauty category that particularly impressed Planet Retail’s judging panel.”
