Speakers for a new outsourcing executive training program include executives from Procter & Gamble, Eli Lilly and American Express.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Mar 06, 2008 – DURHAM, N.C. – Senior executives will learn how to lead and implement successful outsourcing and offshoring strategies through a new executive training program offered by the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP) and Duke Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER).

The intensive three-day class for key decision makers will explore common frameworks, new concepts, leading-edge research findings and tools to help companies formulate outsourcing and offshoring strategies.

“This program brings together the latest business practices from global companies with state- of-the-art research from academia making it extremely valuable for both companies who are already outsourcing offshore or are considering it,” said IAOP Chairman Michael Corbett.

Open to individuals and small corporate teams as well as advisors and providers of outsourcing services, “Successful Outsourcing and Offshoring Strategies” will be held March 16-19 at the R. David Thomas Center at Duke University in Durham, N.C.

Ashok Vemuri, global head of banking and capital markets of Infosys Technologies, will deliver the keynote speech. Other speakers include Charles Aird, senior managing director, PricewaterhouseCoopers; Bill Metz, Certified Outsourcing Professional (COP), manager, Procter & Gamble; Greg Reynolds, director, Eli Lilly; Jud Linville, president CCSG, American Express; and Gary Greenfield, CEO of Avid Technology, Inc.

Arie Lewin, lead principal investigator of Duke Offshoring Research Network (ORN), will review new research on “Next Generation Outsourcing” and discuss the “Global Race for Talent.”  IAOP’s Corbett will also address participants on organizing, restructuring and leading outsourcing.

“In view of the emerging interest by the C-level suite in outsourcing and offshoring, it is important for companies to develop corporate-wide strategies for guiding outsourcing and offshoring decisions at the business unit and functional levels,” Lewin said. “This program will address such issues as globalization of innovation, the global race for talent, and organizational capabilities for managing a global outsourcing-offshoring strategy.”

Other areas that will be covered include selecting among global locations; legal, tax and contract issues; recognizing and addressing management and service challenges; and managing remote locations and organizational transitions.
