Already in production, the film "Caped Crusaders" -- a super hero saga, is already in the works. This will be one on on a long list of productions for Rachel Galvin, a local actress who cut her chops in Los Angeles before moving to the Sunshine State. It may seem a bit of a reversal of fortune but for this star-in-the-
"Coming to Florida proved to be a smart move for me. I have been able to do one film after another," she said. Galvin has shown her acting prowess in numerous student shorts for the Palm Beach Film School, giving her the opportunity to try on a wide variety of roles as well as working in films for the Art Institute in Ft. Lauderdale and other local schools. But she has also delved into the indie scene.
She just completed an independent feature entitled "Elixir" as a vixen reporter from another planet. That film will be 'in the can' this week. It was shown at the Ft. Lauderdale Film Festival but then re-cut to add Galvin into the production.
Now, it will be on to "Caped Crusaders," in which she will play Amazing Grace, a retired super hero who returns to crime fighting after her daughter gets involved "In the business."
"I start filming in two weeks and I can't wait. I am honored to work with my fellow actors, whose skill has been wonderful. It is also a great script, written by the director Kurt Donath. Knowing that he already had fine films under his belt really made me feel great to be a part of this picture. I also have been practicing some fight choreography and get to wear a whole super hero outfit. What could be better than that?" laughed Galvin.
Look for "Caped Crusaders" to be coming to South Florida soon, possibly as soon as May or June. More news will certainly be "flying in" over this superhero saga. In the meantime, Rachel Galvin is sitting pretty and waiting patiently for her close-up.
