Students of The International Culinary School Win Big at Las Vegas Culinary Challenge

Students of The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of California – San Diego Win Big at the 9th Annual Las Vegas Culinary Challenge

PRLog (Press Release)Mar 05, 2008 – SAN DIEGO, CA - Students of The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of California – San Diego won numerous honors at the 9th Annual Las Vegas Culinary Challenge at the International Restaurant Show on February 26 and 27.  Seven students competed against seasoned industry professionals in challenging categories ranging from hot food presentations to cake decorating.  Of the seven entrants, four were awarded Bronze Medals, one was awarded a Silver Medal, and two were awarded Certificates of Professional Achievement.

The Las Vegas Culinary Challenge is a two-day professional grade competition held during the International Restaurant Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Participants have the opportunity to impress American Culinary Federation (ACF) Master Chefs, who attend as judges, with their culinary creations in cake decorating, flat iron steak, carving, fish with salad, veal rack and pastry masterpiece competitions.  

Chef Mark Sullivan, Academic Director of Culinary Arts at The International Culinary School at The Art Institute of California – San Diego said, “This is an outstanding result for a superb effort especially when you consider that this is not a student competition but a full fledged PROFESSIONAL level exhibition.  Our heartiest congratulations go to the team and all who supported them in this award winning initiative.”
