WCPE “Opera House” Features Damsels in Distress!
Robert Galbraith’s Theme for Spring Quarter is “Women in Crisis”

WAKE FOREST, N.C. —TheClassicalStation.org announces today that its Thursday evening “Opera House” spring quarter theme will be a look at opera from a feminine viewpoint. The program airs Thursday nights at 7 p.m. ET.

“Women in Crisis is a compelling exploration of how artists respond to the drama of crisis from a feminine perspective,” says host Robert Galbraith. “Mostly serious but sometimes humorous, this theme is explored from just about every angle and time period imaginable.”

The three-part cycle begins with Mozart’s “Le Nozze di Figaro,” continues with a contemporary operatic adaptation of Sister Helen Prejean’s “Dead Man Walking” and concludes with an archival Al Ruocchio presentation of Rossini’s “L’Italiana in Algeri.” The entire schedule can be seen in Quarter Notes, TheClassicalStation.org/guide.

“Opera House” is a weekly feature that airs every Thursday evening at 7 p.m. ET and presents the best in operatic recordings with excellent commentary from Galbraith.

A complete list of the ways WCPE is available with instructions for cable and satellite reception can be found at theclassicalstation.org/listen.shtml.
