Soft launched in December 2007, the unique Mi-Vox audio player has already found many fans who have embraced the new concept. Every Mi-Vox comes ready for use with headphones and a single standard AAA battery.
Gerald Fitzalan Howard, Mi-Vox’s director, says about the new audio book product: “It’s compact and lightweight, like a slim match-box, you can easily listen to the latest novels, biographies or comedy wherever you are and whatever you are doing. With your hands free, you will be able to work out, cook, shop, commute, sunbathe, do gardening, anything!”
With the new Mi-Vox bookmarking capabilities, you can pause the story and carry on later. It will automatically bookmark the story if you stop or turn off your Mi-Vox, and it will remember your bookmark even if you take the batteries out!
The Mi-Vox has an enormous storage capacity - a whole 40 hours of entertainment can be squeezed onto a Mi-Vox, that’s the equivalent of about 32 CDs. At prices ranging from £9.99 to £24.99, Mi-Vox is a cheap alternative to downloading audiobooks to MP3 players.
While a standard MP3 player is good for music, the Mi-Vox is better for audio books. Downloading an audio book to an iPod takes time – maybe several hours – and uses up space. With a Mi-Vox you can save time and keep your iPod free for your music collection and should you loose it or should it get damaged, you will have only lost one book not a whole collection.
For that reason, the Mi-Vox is also perfect for children as it can both entertain and educate. Needless to say adults can enjoy fiction and non-fiction, but also learn a new language or enjoy a new way of sight-seeing with the electronic tourist guides.
