Infiniti EX35 SUV Sales Rise - Traditional SUV Sales Decline

Infiniti car sales increased in February while GM reported that light trucks sales in February were down 19.2%. Are consumers shying away from large SUV vehicles and moving to affordable SUV crossover models like the Infiniti EX35?

PRLog (Press Release) - Mar 03, 2008 -
This week the largest car manufacturers reported their February sales number.  In the spotlight was GM whose light trucks sales were down 19.2% according to a CNNMoney.com article.  Infiniti reported an increase in sales for the same period. One of the reasons being offered for this drop is that US consumers are shying away from large SUV light trucks and moving to crossover SUV cars.

"The Infiniti EX35 fits the bill perfectly and validates the showroom appeal that the EX35 crossover has had" remarks Steve Rudkin, General Manager of Infiniti of Santa Monica.  The Infiniti EX35 was designed to appeal to those consumer who want the functionality of a SUV but in a smaller, more practical format. With gas prices going higher, gas mileage is an increasing factor in new car purchases.

"With new lease programs introduced on March 1st, we expect the demand to pickup even more in 2008" commented Rudkin. Infiniti of Santa Monica is currently offering the 2008 Infiniti EX35 for a low as $399 per month* with $1,995 down & fees.  "The current lease program has dropped the monthly payments for consumers from the initial launch prices and are now in the sweet spot for crossover sales" commented William Agovino, ISM Sales Manager.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's list has added the Infiniti EX35 to its “top safety pick” list, because of “superior overall crash protection” based on front, side and rear crash tests.  According to the report "The new Infiniti EX35, a luxury SUV, earns the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's Top Safety Pick award for 2008. The EX35 is the first Infiniti to earn this award.

Top Safety Pick winners afford superior overall crash protection among the vehicles in their class. To qualify a vehicle must earn the highest rating of good in the Institute's front, side, and rear tests and be equipped with electronic stability control."
