PRLog (Press Release) –
Mar 03, 2008 – The significance of this trade fair, which is taking place for the seventh time in 2008, is growing as the region develops. Almost 20 per cent of Chinese consumer goods are manufactured in Ningbo and the surrounding area. With 5 million inhabitants, the metropolis near Shanghai is one of the most important hubs for Chinese imports and exports. For further information please visit the website www.cicgf.com.
Four thousand exhibitors are taking part in CICCF 2008, which is being held in a state-of-the- art exhibition complex. Products from the clothing and household textile sector, electric and household appliances, basic commodities, office and leisure goods, together with decorations, gifts and fancy foods will be presented in the 90,000 square metres exhibition area. Over 30 other countries will have stands including Germany, Italy, USA, Japan, Thailand, Korea, Brasil, and Hongkong as well as Australia, Spain and Pakistan. 27 Chinese provinces will also be present. Buyers from a total of 113 countries have already registered to visit CICCF.
This year the journey to CICGF will be easier and quicker. The region’s prestigious project: the 36 kilometre long Hangzhou Bay Bridge will open conciding with the fair. This spectacular structure connects Shanghai to the province of Zhejiang and cuts the journey time between Shanghai and Ningbo from four to three hours.
All foreign exhibitors will be picked up free of charge from the Shanghai airport and brought directly to Ningbo. Tickets for overseas visitors are also free when they register with the CICGF at trade1@cicgf.com.
About Ningbo
The coastal city of Ningbo has a population of 5.6 million and is situated south of Shanghai in the densely populated Yangtze Delta. The prospering city is the economic hub of the Zhejang province. Thanks to its sound infrastructure its GDP is growing at an annual rate of 12.5%. Ningbo has a long, 7000 year history as a commercial and trading city. Its deep water harbour is the largest in China and the fourth largest in the world in terms of cargo handling capacity. A yacht harbour and golf course complement the city’s modern, affluent image as do the international shopping malls and boulevards. This makes Ningbo the perfect location for the International Consumer Goods Fair.
