The Graphics of the Americas (GOA) exhibition held from Thursday February 28 to Saturday March 1, 2008 took place at the Miami Beach Convention Center, in Miami, Florida. On a sunny Floridian day, the convention held over 1,100 booths and about 20,000 attendees including Top Class Designs.
The GOA showcase held over 500 companies covering 200,000 net square feet. The show also involved bi-lingual (English and Spanish) multi-track seminar program covering areas such as graphic design, pre-press, flexography, and converting.
The conference is meant to showcase the latest in graphic professionals need. All the newest in digital, off set, label printing, etc. is displayed; it’s a printer’s “candy store”. Every brand is represented such as HP, Roland, Canon, Infinity, Heidelberg, etc. The showcase displays machines as well as offering printers’ services and selling machine parts.
My fellow co-workers from Top Class Designs and I enjoyed the show, yet another year. The room is huge and the energy high; every year gets better. The sizes of certain machines are incredible and the lessons learned are priceless. When buying new machines for our printing shop there isn’t any better place.
