With the growth of Buy to Let in the UK there is a good proportion of housing stock now occupied as rental property.
With this comes the need for Landlords to have access to an emergency service when their tenant suddenly has a problem at 3 am in the morning.
HomeLet insurance products have been introduced to numerous Landlords and Tenants over the past six years. They are now offering Emergency Assistance Insurance. The idea behind the scheme is that the tenant contacts the HomeLet emergency number and not the Landlord.
They will cover the costs of a contractor up to maximum figure per incident for such essentials as plumbing, lost keys, cooking systems, roofing, electricity supply, door and window security. HomeLet reckon that the average similar problem takes around 48 hours to sort out, whereas their solution for arranging an approved contractor to deal with the issue is within 4 hours of it being reported.
