Windows Server 2008 is the latest release of Microsoft's server line of operating systems and incorporates the latest network, management and security technologies. Available in late February 2008, it is the successor to Windows Server 2003, released nearly five years earlier. Coolcat Inc will be rolling out new infrastructure based on Citrix Xen Server, protected by Eset Anti Virus.
Windows Server 2008 is built on Windows Vista's NT 6.0 kernel and is reported to be Microsoft's most secure server operating system ever. Anti-malware software is a requirement for any server today and ESET's NOD32 Antivirus, with its proactive detection, represents the best fit for securing Windows Server 2008 from viruses, worms, rootkits, spyware, trojans and other threats.
"Windows Server 2008 represents a leap forward for Microsoft, and ESET's updated ThreatSense technology has kept pace allowing for the most proactive protection against evolving threats," said Andrew Lee, ESET chief research officer. "In addition, our software functions with Windows Server 2008 Core, which is designed to provide a minimal attack surface. As the most proactive solution on the market for protecting against zero-day threats, ESET’s update support for Microsoft’s service packs allows our customers to remain protected from the latest Internet-borne attacks."
The current version of ESET's flagship security software, ESET NOD32 Antivirus, which has been shipping since December, 2007 has been tested with Windows Server 2008. Licensed customers may download this version from the ESET website.
