The UK Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency today released a statement urging people who have a driving test booked for February 29th to turn up for their test despite the planned action by the Public and Commercial Services Union - which is the union for many of the UKs driving examiners.
If the planned one-day action (over a pay dispute) goes ahead - the strike could also affect other agencies including the DVLA, the Highways Agency and the Dept of Transport.
The DSA have stressed that any tests which are cancelled will be automatically rebooked and the learner can reclaim any out of pocket expenses.
Bob O'Donnell, Director of Cape Plates, a DVLA registered number plate supplier commented "We're not too concerned. Hopefully the strike won't affect our business to any great extent. The DVLA haven't told us how many of their employees are members of this union - but the worst case scenario is that our customers documentation is delayed by 24 hours - but hopefully this won't be the case."
