With the Beijing Olympics fast approaching, BeijingChinaWorld announces completion of a major update to its popular online guide. Visitor numbers are increasing daily as the world becomes ever more curious about the rising star of the east.
The guide now covers over forty places of interest and has new features on chinese culture, past and present. The unique feature of BeijingChinaWorld is the number and quality of the photographs included. There are now nearly 4,000 photographs in its galleries.
Visitors to the site can take a virtual tour of the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven and many other places of interest.
With projections that Beijing will become the world's top tourist destination by 2020, the website provides the cultural background, practical information and overall sense of place to both potential visitors and the simply curious.
Chief photographer Steve Clarke is still amazed by Beijing's rapid transformation, even after spending most of the last five years there, stating that: "nearly everytime you return to a place after just a few months, it has changed in some way. There is always something new to see - and that makes keeping our guide up-to-date quite a task!"
Beijing's long history mingles with an equally eloquent modernity in a harmonious whole that is a sheer delight. BeijingChinaWorld aims to present that spirit to a world awaiting August's 'high-tech, green Olympics.'
