In addition, OpenLogic more than tripled the number of customers. OpenLogic customers, including 3 companies in the Fortune 10 and many in the Fortune 500, use OpenLogic to maximize the efficiency of their open source software. Using OpenLogic’s governance software, certified library and consolidated support, customers are able to take advantage of the significant cost savings and flexibility of open source software while mitigating potential risks.
OpenLogic allows companies to consolidate their open source provisioning, governance and support through a single vendor. Customers have embraced this model by significantly expanding their relationship with OpenLogic. For example, the average OpenLogic customer uses nearly 100 open source packages and enlists OpenLogic to provide consolidated, one-stop support for on average sixty packages. The top five support packages purchased in 2007 were:
o PostgreSQL;
o JBoss;
o Tomcat;
o Apache HTTP Server; and
o Hibernate.
New Trend in Open Source: Consolidated Support
SkyWay Systems, Inc., which provides onboard, intelligent communications services to automobiles such as Ford, uses JBoss, Hibernate, MySQL, Apache and Tomcat in production.

Growing The Certified Library
The OpenLogic Certified Library today includes 380 packages. Last year, OpenLogic certified 180 new open source packages using its 42-point process that ensures any new addition to the library is enterprise-ready. In addition, OpenLogic is continually adding new versions and releases for open source packages that are already in the Certified Library. Customers such as Skyway rely on the Certified Library to maintain version control over new releases and security patches, helping to mitigate risk and accelerate innovation.

OpenLogic Announces The Open Source Census
In 2007, OpenLogic announced The Open Source Census, a collaborative initiative designed to provide enterprises a way to easily inventory the open source software installed on their machines and anonymously submit that data to The Open Source Census. Data collected in The Open Source Census will be aggregated and shared publicly on the Internet and will also be available to the enterprises who contribute data in 2008. The Open Source Census will use OSS Discovery, which OpenLogic released under an open source license in December. It scans any number of machines and generates a list of all of the installed open source software and version numbers, regardless of license.
For more information on The Open Source Census project or co-sponsor opportunities, please visit www.osscensus.org. Downloads for OSS Discovery and access to the community for OSS Discovery are at www.ossdiscovery.org.
