Rancho Santa Margarita, California, February 2008- “We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal…” These words penned by Thomas Jefferson in 1776 are not only famous in American history, but also known all over the world. Why then, over 200 years later, are racism, discrimination and hatred is still prevalent in society today?
The concept of Do The Math 247 was conceived by Michael Lucas 2 years ago. After sharing the idea with three friends, they decided to act on it. As a whole they felt it was something that was needed in our world today.
Do The Math 247 was started with the intention of spreading a message of acceptance, brotherhood and compassion for our fellow man. Do The Math 247 is a positive movement using the universal language of math to promote a better mankind. The company’s message of unity aims to transcend all barriers of race, age, sex and religious beliefs, while concentrating on the ultimate truth that, all people are created equal.
The message of Do The Math 247 is rooted in math’s five basic symbols. Because these symbols are universally recognized and their definitions are understood; it’s inherent most all of mankind will relate to the special meanings the company’s product line assigns to each symbol.

While each of the mathematical symbols carries its own individual meaning, when each symbol is overlapped in its center: the Do The Math 247 logo is created and encompassed in parentheses to represent the world. This logo is quickly gaining popularity and recognition and looks great on a variety of products.
Do The Math 247 has recently launched a t-shirt line that boasts the Do The Math 247 logo or one of the mathematical symbols by itself. Each shirt design has its own unique message. Do The Math 247 also has other products available and more in the works. “In order to get our message out there, we want to appeal to different markets and different people. So having a wide variety of products is something we are striving to achieve”, says Lucas.
Being a positive movement, Do The Math 247 also aims to give back to the community. They recently joined with their local chapter of the Big Brothers and Big Sisters organization, giving back a percentage from each t-shirt sold online. Do The Math 247 has also developed a great fund-raising program for schools, charities and organizations. By owning a Do The Math 247 T-Shirt, kids and adults will have a constant reminder of its positive message.
