EXECUTIVE WOMEN’S ROUNDTABLE ANNOUNCES SPEAKERS’ SERIES
March/April Speakers Offer a Variety of New Ideas and Experiences
McLean, Virginia, February 25, 2008-The Executive Women’s Roundtable, Inc., Northern Virginia’s leading executive membership organization for the area’s top executive women and business owners announces its March and April programs.
March 11, 2008: The Roundtable invites you to hear an insider’s view of the state of our environment when we welcome Lynn Scarlett, Deputy Secretary of the Interior. In addition to her duties to coordinate the Interior’s environmental policy initiatives, Secretary Scarlett co-chairs the President and First Lady's Preserve America initiative on historic preservation and heritage tourism, co-chairs the Recreation Fee Leadership Council, and serves on the Board of Trustees of the Udall Foundation as the Department of the Interior representative. Her view of both the environment and public policy will give us new ideas to consider as we approach the dawn of a new administration.
April 8, 2008: The Roundtable welcomes Rebecca Shambaugh author of It’s Not a Glass Ceiling, It’s a Sticky Floor. Shambaugh, a nationally known leadership strategist based in McLean, has over twenty years of experience helping organizations and executives respond to critical leadership challenges and opportunities in today's business environment. She’ll be offering her candid thoughts on succeeding in today’s business climate.
“Our location in Northern Virginia and our personal connections within the community give us access to outstanding speakers,” says Amy Brandts, Executive Women’s Roundtable president. “We welcome the start of spring with an address by Deputy Secretary of the Interior, Lynn Scarlett.” April’s meeting changes gears as the group hosts a local leadership specialist, Rebecca Shambaugh. “These two inspirational women represent a diversity of ideas and experiences, a hallmark of our organization.”
The Roundtable hosts monthly program luncheons in the Washington, DC area for its nearly 130 executive women members and guests. Networking begins at 11:45 a.m. followed by a family-style lunch, featured speaker, and open floor discussion at 12:00 p.m. Program costs are $30 for members and $45 for non-members who RSVP or $55 for all walk-ins at the door.
The Executive Women's Roundtable, Inc. is a non-profit membership organization and a forum for executive women to improve the environment for all working women.
