“We are excited to bring our unique approach to nanny services to the Columbus market,” said founder and President Kathleen Heydorn. “Lori Lomax is the new Manager for our Columbus branch and comes with an impressive background. Like myself, she is a mother and has also been a nanny so she understands the business from both aspects. Lori also has a degree in Early Childhood Education and is an excellent addition to our team.”
“As a former nanny, I know how important it is to find the perfect nanny that makes you and your children fell safe and secure,” said Lori Lomax. “I am very excited to be able to assist families in finding that special person who will become a wonderful addition to their family.”
The Columbus branch of The Nanny Connection will offer permanent and on-call services to residents and looks to offer nanny and babysitting positions to a growing number of qualified women in the area. The Nanny Connection offers a unique service to both parents and nannies with their online application and matching system combined with the personal touch of the household staffing specialists.
“Parents can visit our website and detail their childcare needs and we’ll personally match them with the best nanny for their situation,” said Heydorn. “Nannies also may use our website to complete an application and review available positions both full and part time. Parents can request our on-call services and nannies can submit their availability right online. Using our website service allows parents and nannies to search any time of the day or night.”
Heydorn, a graduate of Kent State University with her Masters in Early Childhood Education, opened her doors in 2004 to fill a need in the greater Akron/Cleveland, not only for qualified permanent placement of nannies but also for on-call childcare. The service has now expanded to include on-call housekeepers, eldercare, personal chefs, handymen, and more.
“I would hear parents complaining about the fact that they didn’t have a resource for qualified care for a one-time or short term basis. We offer nannies for just a few hours or an overnight vacation. All of our nannies are background checked before they ever enter a home for an interview,” said Heydorn. The nannies and babysitters are also CPR and 1st Aid certified, have had driving records and references checked, and are all personally interviewed.
The Nanny Connections does all the work for the family to find the perfect match for their needs. “Having a nanny is becoming much more popular as the cost of daycares and rates of illness in those facilities increase. In many cases, it is actually more economical to have a nanny in your home then to pay for a couple of children in a daycare setting. The children get one-on-one attention and stay happy and healthy,” said Heydorn.
Heydorn and her business have won numerous awards including Business Woman of the Year, Hudson, Ohio, member of the Hudson Chamber of Commerce and is the President of the Rotary Club of Hudson Clocktower. She is a graduate of Leadership Hudson and strongly supports the local communities as well as assisting women with excellent education and childcare backgrounds finding the perfect family to care for, as needed and permanently.
