FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Feb 22, 2008 – FORT WORTH, Texas – Employees from Gatlin Education Services, the world’s largest provider of online career training courses to colleges and universities, met earlier this month to clean a section of the Trinity River through the Adopt-a-River program.

Organized by the Tarrant Regional Water District, the program encourages individuals, neighborhoods and organizations to help preserve the Trinity River by performing cleanups in assigned areas. Volunteers from Gatlin Education Services adopted one of the river’s 34 sections and cleared trash items collected along its shoreline. The company will maintain their section once a month.

"It's something that's become very near and dear to us, and we wanted to do something as a company," said Mark Lamkin, COO of Gatlin Education Services. "And it doesn't take a lot of people to make a significant impact when you do a project like this."

Currently, there are 11 sections of the river left to adopt. Interested individuals can find out more information at http://www.trwd.com or by calling the Tarrant Regional Water District at 817-335-2491.

“It’s important to keep the river clean, and we make it easy to get involved,” said Kari Schmidt with the Tarrant Regional Water District. “All people have to do is show up, clean and then they leave the bags. We take care of it from there on out.”

Established in 1989 by Stephen Gatlin, Gatlin Education Services is the world’s largest provider of online workforce training to community colleges and universities. Gatlin’s online career training courses are open enrollment, allowing interested students to start their desired training immediately. Gatlin’s courses are designed to provide the skills necessary to acquire professional caliber positions for many in-demand occupations. For more information, visit http://www.gatlineducation.com.
