Feb 22, 2008 – Founder and inaugural CEO of Film24, Nicky Davis, has just been appointed as Managing Director of the Overdog Group.
Prior to founding Film24, the TV channel all about film that’s distributed on Sky, Joost and ROK TV mobile, Davis was Managing Consultant of NJD Group, one of the leading executive search and channel launch consultancies in the broadcast, film and home entertainment sector.
NJD Group has just merged with Overdog Marketing, the strategic marketing agency specialising in the home entertainment, computer games and mobile sectors, to form Overdog Group.
Davis said, “There’s something quite unique about merging a company that focuses on human capital, hiring highflying execs and management teams, with a company that’s focussed on getting the product and the brand right. Both companies have been operating in the same sector, but from a different perspective. When you consider what makes telecoms, media and technology companies work, it’s usually a combination of the right people and the right brand/marketing strategy. Davis remains a non-executive Director of Film24.

Nicky Davis was Managing Consultant of the NJD Group for 15 years and, primarily working with US Studios. She was integral to some of the most successful channel launches in Europe, working with clients such as NBC Universal and Discovery Communications. She has been CEO of Film24 for two years, having founded the business in December 2005, launching the channel on Sky in July ’07 and subsequently on the internet via Joost and mobile via ROK TV. She has been a Director/Council Member of the Royal Television Society and a Director of Women In Film & Television (UK), as well as sitting on various industry committees and panels.
