”We’ll Be Ridin’ ‘Wildfires’

Wild Mountain Fire and Forestry Foundation Gains Major Celebrity Spokesman

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Feb 20, 2008 – Michael Martin Murphey, the cowboy poet with hits like 'Wildfire' and 'Carolina in the Pines' and with 37 CD's to his name, has signed on to sing Wild Mountain's praises. Aside from appearing on two PSA's for  the Wild Mountain educational foundation, 'Murph' will be traveling the country as the voice and ambassador to help wake the public up about what they can do to help reduce fire dangers to their neighborhood and, to preserve the great forests, prairies and wildlands of Western America.
Recently, at the Cowboy Poets Festival in spectacular Moab, Utah, Murph played to a packed house and in mid-concert, stopped to praise the efforts of Wild Mountain whose principals were greeted with a rousing applause. "You keep your head low and work so hard and for people to appreciate what you're trying to do for them was truly a heartening experience," says Neal Brown, Vice President of Wild Mountain's wildland planning and mitigation arm..

Along with his Media Director, Brown went to Moab to shoot the new Public Service Announcements with Murph amidst the spectacular backdrop of the mountains just above Castle Valley. "What's on our minds is to get the message out to as many people as possible, says  Brown. "The fires are just too big, more people's lives are threatened  than ever before, we are racing to avert disasters with similar  devastation effects to a small nuclear bomb"
