Surprising New Roadmaster Commercials Have Fresh Take

Roadmaster Drivers School will release 4 new national television commercials February, 2008 that add a unique call for more women and team drivers to sign up for truck driving school.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Feb 20, 2008 -
(Tampa, FL) With a fresh take on a familiar occupation, Roadmaster rolls out a brand new load of commercials. In February 2008, Roadmaster Drivers School is scheduled to release 4 new television spots, each expressing a new vision of the benefits of trucking. What’s extraordinary is the strong show of support Roadmaster has for women truck drivers and team drivers—among the strongest support in the trucking industry.

Trucking is popular. In 2006, 1,860,000 Americans chose heavy trucking as their occupation of choice, according to the 2006 Current Populations Survey from the US Department of Labor Statistics. Women truckers however, make up a small 5.2 percent of those truck drivers. Even a moderate response to Roadmaster’s call for more women truck drivers could make a big difference.

One Roadmaster Drivers School commercial features a woman considering a career in trucking.  Playing that truck driving school student is Katie Hardcastle of Tampa. When asked about her experience filming, Ms. Hardcastle reported, “It became apparent to me just how many untapped opportunities are out there for women. Many women may not realize that the trucking industry is not a totally male-dominated field. I hope many truck driver stereotypes will be dispelled after seeing the new commercials.”

The remaining commercials deal with the opportunities and good wages that truckers can receive with their CDL license, and as well as  couple-driving or what is known as over-the-road (OTR) “team driving.” Married couple, Holli and Tim Kliethermes took the wheel and stood in to represent a team driving couple. Holli Kliethermes, author and director of the Roadmaster commercial series, reports, “Team driving is a great way for a couple to travel, make money and spend time with each other. Attending a Roadmaster trucking school together just makes it easier.”

Roadmaster Drivers School offers preparation for the CDL license exam with hands-on training. Its truck driving school has 9 school sites located in: Dunn, North Carolina; Columbus, Ohio; Indianapolis, Indiana; Jacksonville, Orlando and Tampa, Florida; West Memphis, Arkansas; San Antonio, Texas; and Salt Lake City, Utah. The new Roadmaster Drivers School commercials will be airing nationwide.
