Yuzoz employs proprietary software to capture scientific satellite data from live astronomical events such as solar flares, northern lights, the winds of space, to turn it into data that is streamed downloaded to the Yuzoz Mission Control and into the Yuzoz Generator-1, where the company’s proprietary algorithms are used to generate a string of random data. The data stream has been certified as random by Technical Systems Testing (TST), a leading independent testing organization.
75,000 users already are tapping data from the sun and beyond
The current Yuzoz platform (http://www.yuzoz.com) has already been used over 75,000 times since its launch in May of 2007, highlighting a continued fascination with the first-ever branded decision-maker to be powered by extraterrestrial phenomena.
“We’ve seen our visitors look for answers to everything from the highly frivolous to some of life’s most important philosophical questions,” Manber commented. “While we can’t claim to have solved these existential conundrums, we may have helped a few people decide what excuse to use when they’re late for work. It has been tremendous fun to see the ways people are incorporating Yuzoz and ‘randomness’
“We invite users to come up with a new generation of space-based products,” said Manber. “Or to add a new twist to games via the use of the randomness of space. We want to capture the widest participation from imaginative users who are intrigued by space, and our open platform gives them that opportunity.”
Manber is no stranger to the public’s fascination with space, having lead Mir-Corp, the company that leased the Russian space station for commercial purposes, during which he signed space tourist Dennis Tito to his first launch contract.
