S7 Software worked with HP and the company to make the company’s flagship high performance database available on HP-UX 11i v3 and Linux on HP Integrity servers to derive a high level of performance and scalability from this architecture. S7 Software has worked on successful project experiences in the past with HP.
“This project is a very good demonstration of how companies can leverage S7 Software’s migration expertise to deliver highly advanced products with very high quality and on schedule, while reducing costs substantially,”
“HP continues to work with service providers such as S7 Software to provide customers with smooth integration of business-critical workloads on HP Integrity servers,” said Dennis Murphy, Global ISV Mgr , HP. “The availability of a high performance transaction processing database on HP Integrity will provide a reliable, scalable server platform to process core financial data that can ultimately help organizations better serve their customer bases.”
The project involved porting around 2 million lines of C and assembly to HP-UX 11i and Linux on IA-64, covering: hand-written assembly conversions (instruction bundling, scheduling, speculation, etc.), dynamic machine code generation, Itanium Runtime Architecture migration, and 32-bit to 64-bit porting issues.
A Senior VP & Executive of the provider of core processing for financial institutions said, "Our project to port our product to the HP Integrity platform, executed by S7 Software, was technically challenging with an aggressive deadline. S7 Software deployed engineers of appropriate skills. The ease with which S7 Software engineers understood the application and responded to our technical and project concerns with timely, precise communications made us feel as if they were an in-house team. We were very impressed and gratified by the fact that they met this difficult deadline. We would be (and are) happy to work with S7 Software again.”
