Feb 19, 2008 – Sterlite Technologies Limited (Sterlite), India’s only global provider and integrated manufacturer of optical fiber today announced that its integrated Optical Fiber Facility has been awarded the Indian Merchant Chambers’- Ramkrishna Bajaj National Quality Award (IMC-RBNQA) Certificate of Merit 2007 in the manufacturing category. Sterlite was among only 6 Indian manufacturing companies awarded in 2007.
Modeled on the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (USA), the IMC-RBNQA is one of India's most prestigious quality and business excellence awards since 1996. Applicants are judged by a panel of specially trained experts, on the critical framework of Leadership, Strategic Planning, Customer and Market Focus, Measurement - Analysis and Knowledge Management, Human Resource Focus, Process Management and Business Results.

In 2006, Sterlite’s Optical Fiber facility was awarded the IMC-RBNQA Certificate of Commendation for Manufacturing.
