WorldTracker GPRS Features Powerful GPS Tracking in a Compact Package

Highly customizable, the WorldTracker GPRS works with Google Earth to allow users to print detailed location reports and configure geo-fences which automatically send alerts when an asset moves in or out of a predetermined area.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PR Log (Press Release)Feb 18, 2008 – Burlingame, CA- WorldTracker GPRS, developed by TrackingTheWorld, offers the best of all worlds in GPS Tracking:  real-time updates, a super-compact design, long-lasting battery power and the option of an affordable unlimited service package.
The tri-band WorldTracker GPRS utilizes the global GSM/GPRS network to provide global real-time tracking capabilities.  Using a direct GPRS data connection, the WorldTracker GPRS tracking system delivers accurate and reliable real-time updates every 15 seconds, a first in GPS tracking systems.
Also known as the WorldTracker Extreme, the WorldTracker GPRS tracking system is extraordinarily discreet in comparison to average-size GPS tracking systems.   Smaller than a set of car keys or a cell phone, the WorldTracker GPRS is convenient to carry and can easily “disappear” when necessary.  Housed in a durable and water resistant case, the WorldTracker GPRS is equipped to stand up to rugged use.  “The WorldTracker Extreme can be quickly and effortlessly concealed in any vehicle, in packages or on people,” said Gilbert Walz, TrackingTheWorld CEO.
Highly customizable, the WorldTracker GPRS works with Google Earth to allow users to print detailed location reports and configure geo-fences which automatically send alerts when an asset moves in or out of a predetermined area.  Detailed mapping provides a clear view of the exact location, from a bird’s eye perspective all the way down to street level.
In another first for GPS tracking systems, TrackingTheWorld offers an unlimited service plan for the WorldTracker GPRS tracking system, which includes unlimited GPS tracking services for a fixed monthly fee.  “Our flat rate unlimited GPS service plan allows users to take advantage of real-time updates every 15 seconds without the added hassles of service charges or worrying about going over their limit,” said Walz.
Featuring the powerful but efficient SiRF Star III GPS Chipset, the WorldTracker GPRS provides faster fix times, better sensitivity, and longer battery life than other GPS tracking systems. In addition, Walz said the SiRF Star III GPS Chipset offers unparalleled dependability with its ability to hold a signal in low signal areas such as in between large buildings, and in areas densely covered by trees.
To even further extend battery life, TrackingTheWorld offers an optional “hibernating” battery pack for use with TrackingTheWorld GPS tracking systems including the WorldTracker GPRS. Through the use of motion detection, the innovative GPS battery pack conserves power by only powering up the GPS tracking system when motion is sensed. The “hibernating” battery pack is entirely self-contained in its crush-proof, waterproof Pelican™ case and will operate unattended for up to 30 days.
Based in Burlingame, California, TrackingTheWorld is a global leader in the development of GPS tracking systems and GPS tracking software.  The firm’s GPS Letter Logger, a GPS tracking system commissioned by the United States Postal Service to pinpoint delays in delivery systems, was recently featured as the “Invention of the Month” in Popular Science magazine.
