Gayatri Projects Ltd, the Hyderabad real estate construction major, plans to enter the hospitality sector by building a five star deluxe hotel in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. The new Park Hyatt Hotel will be constructed as a subsidiary, under the Gayatri Hi-Tech Hotels Ltd banner. It is expected to open at the end of 2009.
The Park Hyatt Hotel, will come up on 1.25 hectares of land in the Banjara Hills area. Hyatt International Ltd, Chicago, USA, will operate the luxury hotel. The cost of the project is estimated at Rs 350 crore. The hotel will have four basements and a six storey building with 225 rooms. The fifth and sixth floors will be reserved as 'service apartments' for expatriate professionals from the IT and pharmaceutical sectors and other international businessmen on long visits to India. Facilities will include a speciality restaurant, all-meals restaurant, bar and coffee lounge, and spa and fitness centre.
The civil contract for the project has been given to M Ramjan & Company, Mumbai. John Portman & Associates and Hirsch Bedner and Associates, both from Atlanta, USA, have designed the hotel and its interiors, respectively.
