PRLog (Press Release) - Feb 14, 2008 -
In Betty Jo Goddard’s new book If You Can’t Train Them, Love Them: The Dogs In My Life, she tells the story of her adventures with man’s best friend. As a child, her mother was alarmed by the faint sounds of whimpering coming from the snow-swept outdoors. Her mother’s response to these cries began Goddard’s journey with a string of loyal companions

The puppy grew up quickly and became the guardian of all the Goddard children. After sharing many tales about the dogs of her childhood, Goddard transitions into her adulthood experiences. She tells both comical stories of typical puppy behavior and grim stories about encounters with some of nature’s most terrifying creatures.

If You Can’t Train Them, Love Them: The Dogs In My Life will grab readers with tons of action and heartwarming accounts of the unique bond that can only be shared between a dog-lover and the furry companions who became her family.

Betty Jo Goddard is originally from Windsor, Illinois. She received a BS from Illinois State and an MA from the University of Colorado. She was a school teacher for twenty-five years and was able to experience all the ups and downs of teaching. Now, Goddard is retired and living on a ridge top in Alaska with her three errant huskies.

If You Can’t Train Them, Love Them: The Dogs In My Life is available in softcover (ISBN 978-1-60264-087-0) from Virtualbookworm.com, Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble.com. The book can also be ordered from most bookstores around the United States and the United Kingdom. More information can be found at the author’s official website, www.goddardbooks.com.
