Hosted annually by Metalux, the 4-day intensive class focuses on providing participants with up-to-date and knowledge of lubrication fundamentals, theory and practice, and follows the training curriculum designed by Ray Thibault for those taking the Certified Lubrication Specialist (CLS) certification exam by the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE). The class is rounded off with an optional CLS examination set by the STLE on the fifth day.
The CLS certification exam is notorious difficult, comprised of 150 short answer questions that test a range of lubrication topics ranging from fundamentals to equipment-specific lubrication to the creation and management of lubrication programmes, and more. This makes the over 70% pass rate at this year’s CLS class an exceptionally sweet achievement.
The CLS certification ranks amongst the top echelon of awards in the lubrication industry. It is acknowledged to recognize those individuals who possess current knowledge of lubrication fundamentals and theory.
