Utah-Based Travel Agency Celebrates 50 Years of Going Places

PRLog (Press Release) – Feb 13, 2008 – SALT LAKE CITY– Utah-based Morris Murdock Travel, LLC, will celebrate its 50th anniversary (1958-2008) in the travel industry this year.

We combine the benefits of a large, sophisticated travel management organization with local, hands-on services.”

Morris Murdock Travel was originally founded in 1958 when the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints approached Franklin Murdock about starting an agency to handle the travel needs of church employees and missionaries. Since then, Morris Murdock Travel has been associated with June Morris, Morris Air, Beehive Travel, and other agencies. In 1997, ownership of Morris Travel and Murdock Travel (which stood as two separate companies) belonged to Yamagata Enterprises and the officers of the company, respectively.  In 2000, Morris Travel and Murdock Travel merged and the ownership of the company was held with the officers of the company.  In 2004, Crestwood Communications took full control of Morris Murdock Travel. In 2006 the company appointed Becky Potts as the new president of Morris Murdock Travel.

Morris Murdock Travel provides services in the areas of business travel, leisure travel, luxury travel, meetings and incentives travel, Orchid Solutions (online registration), and escorted tours. The company also serves corporate clients such as the Utah Jazz, Intermountain Health Care, Zions Bank, and Huntsman Corporation (HUN).
