Celebrate Black History Month with Boro Book Warehouse (810 NW Broad St. M'boro, TN) Saturday February 23, 2008 from 12-2pm. Five Murfreesboro African-American authors will discuss their books followed by a traditional author signing. 10 % of all proceeds during the event will be donated to the Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Fund. Book topics include something for everyone, including youth fiction, biography, and inspiration.
The authors include:
• Elder Raymond L-Shabazz- local teacher and minister, author of "Peaches"-a fun, fictional story of five young boys growing up in the rural south. *This event will be the exclusive first signing of "Peaches" published in January 2008.
• Jacque Trim-author of "Fight for Your Destiny: Breaking Free for Your Breakthrough"-
• Candice Adams-local Speech Pathologist for the Rutherford County School System, author of "How to Help Your Child Get Ahead Spiritually and Educationally"-
• Carl A. Patton-author of "Big Ralph: Reflections of a Black Police Chief"-a biography about Ralph H. Cothran, the first black police chief in Chattanooga, TN.
