"Black Heritage Spotlight: 5 Local African-American Author's Discuss their books

Celebrate Black History Month with Boro Book Warehouse (810 NW Broad St. M'boro, TN) Saturday February 23, 2008 from 12-2pm. Five Murfreesboro African-American authors will discuss their books followed by a traditional author signing.

PRLog (Press Release)Feb 12, 2008 – "Black Heritage Spotlight: 5 Local African-American Author's Discuss their books

Celebrate Black History Month with Boro Book Warehouse (810 NW Broad St. M'boro, TN) Saturday February 23, 2008 from 12-2pm. Five Murfreesboro African-American authors will discuss their books followed by a traditional author signing.  10 % of all proceeds during the event will be donated to the Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Fund.    Book topics include something for everyone, including youth fiction, biography, and inspiration.

The authors include:
•      Elder Raymond L-Shabazz- local teacher and minister, author of "Peaches"-a  fun, fictional story of five young boys growing up in the rural south. *This event will be the exclusive first signing of "Peaches" published in January 2008.
•      Jacque Trim-author of "Fight for Your Destiny: Breaking Free for Your Breakthrough"-a self help book which teaches you to learn how to stop waiting on God to show up, while He is waiting on you to step out.
•      Candice Adams-local Speech Pathologist for the Rutherford County School System, author of "How to Help Your Child Get Ahead Spiritually and Educationally"-a book that equips parents with tools to help their children's education.
•      Carl A. Patton-author of "Big Ralph: Reflections of a Black Police Chief"-a biography about Ralph H. Cothran, the first black police chief in Chattanooga, TN.
•      Margaret  Ottley-Okubo-author of "Everyday Miracles:stories that touch your heart"-an inspiring collection of stories that will show how, even during life's darkest moments, we can experience the love of God.
