Professor (Dr.) Ranbir Singh is the Vice Chancellor of the National Academy of Legal Studies and Research. He joined the university (NALSAR) in 1998, bringing with him, more than twenty-five years of experience in teaching and research. He has held appointments in various institutions of higher learning as Professor, Head, Dean and Proctor. He is an academic member of the Legal Education Committee of the Bar Council of India and the Academician Nominee on the Executive Committee of the SAARC Law. Professor (Dr.) Singh is also a member of the Executive Committee of National Legal Services Authority, the High Court Legal Aid Committee and on the Governing Council of the Indian Law Institute. He has delivered lectures at premier institutions like Sardar Vallabhai Patel National Police Academy, Hyderabad, and the National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Science. Professor (Dr.) Singh's legal writings span the field of Jurisprudence, Human Rights, Legal Education, Legal Aid, Personal Law and Justice Education. He has more than thirty research papers to his credit and has contributed to various national and international conferences and books.
Professor (Dr.) Ranbir Singh believes that the most extraordinary things are done by ordinary people. His achievements are certainly more than ordinary; he is one of the foremost authorities on Law in all of India and holds three academic degrees; a JD, a PhD and an LLM.
