What do Jon Bon Jovi, Todd Rundgren, Mick Jagger, Meat Loaf, Celine Dion, Joan Jett and Hall & Oates have in common?  Singer/Songwriter Kasim Sulton has worked with all of them and he is coming back to Atlanta!

NEW YORK -- In between his in demand studio and touring work, Kasim has scheduled another series of solo performances to help promote the release of his 2 disc compilation set, “All Sides.”  He will be launching this leg of his solo tour with a performance at the Academy Theatre in Avondale Estates on March 1st, 2008.  This acoustic show will be filmed for his Official Solo DVD.  Opening for Kasim at this special performance, sponsored by Rundgren Radio and Groupie Gear, is local artist Alec Roeser.  All show attendees will receive a limited edition commemorative T-shirt and are welcome to stay for the after show meet and greet. Ticketing info can be found at www.groupie-g.com.

Brooklyn-born Sulton began his career playing piano for David Bowie's publicist Cherry Vanilla, before joining Todd Rundgren's prog-rock group Utopia in 1976. Kasim played bass and sang vocals in the band for 10 years. During that time, they released 6 studio albums and Kasim took on more of the lead vocals of the group as well. Kasim also wrote their only Top Thirty hit, “Set Me Free.”

Kasim has been a part of Meat Loaf’s band since 1993 and in 1998 became his Musical Director. Kasim also has the distinction of being the only musician, apart from Meat Loaf, who performs on each track of all three Bat Out Of Hell albums.  The first Bat Out of Hell album sold an estimated 37 million copies worldwide and Rolling Stone magazine ranked it in the top 500 greatest albums of all time.  Kasim was last in Atlanta on Labor Day of 2007 where he performed in Chastian Park with Meat Loaf’s Three Bats Tour.  In recent years, Kasim has also been making his name as a producer, having produced the Meat Loaf album StoryTellers in 1999, and Rick Reynolds' album Unstoppable in 2005.

Kasim released his solo album, “Quid Pro Quo,” in 2002 to critical acclaim by both critics and fans alike, and in 2003, it won the Kweevak.com Viewers’ Choice Award.  Kasim’s next solo effort will be released in late 2008, but in the meantime, he has released a double compilation CD called “All Sides” which includes new tracks, live tracks and personal favorites from his other solo albums.

Critics worldwide have praised Kasim’s talents. Mike O'Cull from ChicagoGigs.com, says: "Kasim is a songwriter of uncommon gifts. I cannot recommend this performer highly enough to anyone who is a fan of pop music or singer/songwriters in general. He was simply one of the best I've ever seen."

Kasim will be talking on stage about his 30+ year career in the music business as well as playing a mixture of his own music including songs from his days in Utopia, as well as music from The Cars, Todd Rundgren, and possibly even Meat Loaf.
