Local Houston Comedian Set To Appear on HBO's Def Comedy Jam

HBO'S Comedy Showcase Returns With Houston Comedian Ali Representating Southern Comedy.

Feb. 9, 2008 - PRLog -- Houston,  - Stand up Comedian Ali is set to appear on HBO’s Def Comedy Jam, March 9, 2008, at 8:00 PM exclusively on HBO.  Ali will be the second comedian from Houston ever to appear on the show.

While many viewers of the ground breaking series may not easily recognize Ali, his determination and unique comedy style has made him a household name in Houston, TX.
He is very excited about being added to this season’s lineup, and surely made everyone laugh during the live audience taping held at Los Angeles’ Orpheum Theatre last September.

Ali calls Houston his home and credits local establishment Jus Joking in supporting him during the initial phase of his career. Since then, he has been seen on many shows including BET’s Comic View, and Bill Bellamy’s “Who Got Jokes.”

Russell Simmons’ Def Comedy Jam first aired in 1992 and was developed by hip hop mogul Russell Simmons and veteran director- producer Stan Lathan. The show has served as the starting point of major careers for comedians like Cedric the Entertainer and Bernie Mac.
