Now Playing at a Theater Near Me FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PRLog (Press Release) –
Feb 07, 2008 – Today, teenagers cannot imagine life without DVDs, cable, and the Internet. In Tim McGlynn’s new book, Now Playing at a Theater Near Me, readers are taken on a trip back to the seventies when most entertainment was experienced at single screen, drive-in movie theaters.
Before information was easily accessible from home, America’s youth learned about culture and growing up at the movies. Now Playing at a Theater Near Me presents hilarious insights into life and growing up in the early seventies. Even movies could not keep up with the rapidly changing culture and issues of the time. In the book, McGlynn transports readers back to the drive-in theater for some of the most popular scenes from movies of the time, including The Bank Robbery Gone Wrong, The Car Crash at the Drive-In, The Catholic School Scandal, The Thanksgiving Dinner Horror, The Audience Terrorized by the Devil, The Homecoming Dance Disaster, and The “Book Day” Incident. McGlynn received his B.S. and M.S. in Music Education from the University of Illinois where he studied voice with William Warfield. A choir director since 1981, Tim currently teaches at Schaumburg High School in Illinois. While living in Minneapolis he was a member of The Dale Warland Singers, a professional choral ensemble that toured, recorded and made several appearances on NPR’s Praire Home Companion. Tim’s choral arrangements have been published by Lorenz Music and Heritage Music Press. Aside from school, Tim enjoys spending time with his wife, Misty, and their children Andy and Kate. Besides an obvious love of movies, Tim’s interests include traveling, classic rock, eBay, photography, the Green Bay Packers and all things Clint Eastwood. The McGlynn family, along with two cats and a dog, resides in Palatine, IL, a few blocks from the house where Tim grew up. # # # Virtualbookworm Publishing Inc. self-publishes print-on-demand books at a low cost for authors.
