Digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) and data information service are being gradually developed based on DAB. Currently, China radio, film, and television bureaus choose DAB mobile multimedia broadcasting standard as the industry standard so as to boost the digitalization of audio broadcasting, the promotion of multimedia broadcasting and localized data information service.

Presently, the officially approved trial sites of mobile digital multimedia business include Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong, etc, which have begun operation successively. Beijing Radio also has started to broadcast digital broadcasting programs since Nov. 1st 2006.

China mobile digital multimedia broadcasting TV market scale is expected to reach RMB 2.3 billion in 2008, and RMB 5.9 billion in 2010.

There are 60 more types of DAB digital broadcasting receiving terminal in China, including MP4, PMP, GPS navigation device, USB receiver, etc.
