Demand Response (DR) refers to changes in electric consumption by end-users as a reaction to price fluctuations and in order to attain incentive payments. A DR event is called for when the reliability and capacity of the grid are at risk.
Now ZDRP can interface directly with the web services of PJM, participants can be automatically enrolled and benefit from a streamlined regular exchange of information.
Taken from its official website, PJM is “a regional transmission organization (RTO) that coordinates the movement of wholesale electricity in all or parts of Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.” PJM is the largest competitive electricity wholesale market in the U.S. and provides opportunities for demand response with several programs, including: Energy, Capacity, Synchronized Reserve, and Regulation.
