The release of the appliance that he is offering could not have come at a better time: the scathing Mitchell Report, which identifies surprising current and past users of steroids, is now causing sports franchises of all sorts to seek new alternatives to having their players find new and natural methods in enhancing their performance.

When Spring Training for MLB is scheduled to begin this week, an additional 50 professional baseball players are scheduled to be fitted with the PPM. These players include former and current MVP and Cy Young recipients. Current professional athletes using the PPM include Seattle Seahawks linebacker Lofa Tatupu, Seahawks kicker Josh Brown, Kansas City Chiefs lineman Tomba Hali, and Carolina Panthers running-back Deshaun Foster.

The invention is being hailed as the new “legal steroid.”

Paige Armstrong, a star forward with the Stevens Ducks basketball team, Stevens Institute of Technology, has been using the PPM for almost five months.
“Once I received the mouth guard I began wearing it and immediately noticed the change in my breathing and endurance during practices and games,” she explains. “I have also witnessed an improvement in my balance when making a post move around the basket or defending and pushing up against another post player as well as a difference with my shots, especially my foul shots, when I have the guard in. I am experiencing all these positive changes in my game due to the mouth guard allowing for a better breathing passage due to the way it aligns my teeth and jaw.”
Dr. Bixby can fit athletes with the PPM through the use of computer technology and a Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Simulator (TENS) machine.
“The TENS machine and innovative computer software allows all dentists to discover the most comfortable and relaxed jaw positions for athletes who want to use the PPM,” he says.
“We discovered that athletes are limited to their ultimate potential due to an improper physical alignment of their jaw, and varying degrees of residual muscular tension,” he says.
He adds, “PPM simply removes these limitations experienced by many athletes as it aligns the jaw in an ideal position in relation to the rest of the body, and allows athletes to run faster, jump higher, hit harder and lift more — all naturally without the use and dangers associated with anabolic steroids.”
