"Every year through Re/Max I donate to national charities, but I feel that we all should do what we can on a local level. I am very passionate about animals, and about doing what we can to give them a chance at being in happy, loving homes. It is only natural that I return the favor to the community for the business it gives me by helping to fund local no-kill shelters and animal rescue groups.”
Each year, no-kill animal shelters such as PAWS in Lynnwood, WA rescue hundreds of animals from being euthanized and give them the time needed to be matched up with new homes. They also provide community education and low cost spay and neutering services to those that may not otherwise be able to afford it - thus helping to reduce the number of unwanted pets born in our community. In addition many small rescue organizations provide refuge for other animals such as ferrets, rabbits, and even horses.
“I really see no reason why we as a community can't convert all our shelters to no-kill facilities. It is truly tragic that healthy animals are being put down simply because we don't have room for them. Hopefully my small contribution will help inspire others to do what they can. By funding spay / neuter programs and supporting no-kill shelters, perhaps one day we can offer all pets a chance at finding a loving home.”
