Dafina Gercheva is currently the Capacity Development Advisor and Regional Coordinator of the United Nations Development Program Bratislava Regional Centre.
Dafina manages regional projects and provides policy advice to the UNDP country offices in Europe. She is well suited for this position as she has ten years experience as a professor of environmental economics, has been involved with democratic governance and is well-versed in public administration.
Dafina is accomplished professionally, personally and academically. She has been a visiting scholar at Oxford University, maintains affiliations with several non-governmental associations dedicated to social reform and speaks five languages. She holds a PhD Degree in Environmental Economics and a Master’s Degree in Political Economy and Sociology from the University of National and World Economy in Sofia.
Dafina Gercheva lives in Bratislava, Slovakia and spends her spare time reading the Economist, participating in sports and enjoying her family.
