Pilani band's glorious march at India's R-Day for 49th time in a row

PRLog (Press Release) – Jan 30, 2008 – Birla Balika Vidya Peeth (BBVP), Pilani Rajasthan established in July 1941 working on modern progressive lines is an English medium Residential Public School for girls. Apart from providing the facilities of modern education, the school is well known for retaining the best traditions of India’s rich traditional heritage.

Besides the training of intellect, the school puts great emphasis on sound health of the students and imparts Physical Training, Yoga, Hockey, Horse-Riding, Lawn Tennis, Judo, Swimming etc to the enrolled students. This year Jan 26th 2008 which is the 59th Republic Day for India, also is the 49th year for the Pilani Band and when they marched playing Iqbal’s immortal Saare Jahan Se Achha, it reiterated the Mahatma Gandhi quote “What really is needed to make democracy function is not knowledge of facts but right education” which indeed they were getting at Birla Balika Vidya Peeth.

There is no doubt that this school from Pilani where Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) which is one of the top ranking universities in India today is also located is bound to stride towards greater heights in the years to come.
