Jan 28, 2008 – Quantico, Va. – In the elevated threat environment that has existed globally since September 11, much debate has taken place regarding the past role of the FBI and the bureau’s ability to continue to evolve and effectively address national security issues. To speak to these concerns, the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI, Inc. recently commissioned a multimedia presentation honoring the FBI’s ongoing efforts to protect the United States and its citizens at home and abroad. “The FBI: Legacy and Legends, Part I” is available for viewing on the Society’s Web site at

Society President Richard J. Bernes feels that the presentation will give viewers a better understanding of the considerable expertise, divergent strengths, and numerous achievements of the bureau and its people. “It is our hope that ‘The FBI: Legacy and Legends, Part I’ will provide both domestic and international audiences with a greater awareness of the unique and prominent role that the FBI has played over the last century – and continues to play – in ensuring the security and freedom of all Americans.”
The Society is currently developing part two of the presentation to commemorate the upcoming 100th anniversary of the FBI on July 26, 2008.
