Offroad enthusiasts now have a new, easy way to find and share off-road areas and trails with the worldwide launch of OffRoadAtlas.com (http://www.OffRoadAtlas.com/)
Ease and speed are the foundation of OffRoadAtlas.com. From the home page, users can pan and zoom the interactive map to drill down to any spot on the planet, search by zip code or browse a listing of the newest areas added to to the site. The Google Maps(tm) mapping service provides views of locations via a satellite image, a graphic map, or a combination of both.
The site also allows people to easily submit new off-road areas for inclusion on the site by entering a simple description, keywords and then prompting them to "point" to the location on a map. OffRoadAtlas.com also allows users to tag their entry with a "credit link," which can link back to a local off-road club, photo album from a recent trip to the area, or any web site. Registered users (registration is free) will see their submitted off-road areas appear on the site immediately. Anonymous submissions will be vetted by the site administrators before they are posted.
OffRoadAtlas.com also allows its users to post comments on listings, as well as link up to their "buddies" to view each other's recent activity (new submissions, comments). The site also provides each user with an RSS feed for sites they post, which is particularly useful to off-road clubs. Groups can enter their local off-road trails on OffRoadAtlas.com and utilizize the RSS feed on their club's web site.
As a kick-off highlight, OffRoadAtlas.com is partnering with Jeep Jamboree USA (JJUSA) to provide information about 2008 Jeep Jamborees across the US. The special JJUSA icon on at OffRoadAtlas.com provides instant access to Jeep Jamboree locations, dates, and pricing.
